The trio was located lifeless, bearing gunshot wounds, within their Baltimore County residence on Friday. Authorities had been prompted to conduct a welfare check around noon, leading to the grim discovery. The victims were identified as Yogesh H Nagarajappa (37), Prathiba Y Amarnath (37), and Yash Honnal (6).
According to a statement from Baltimore County Police spokesperson Anthony Shelton, the preliminary investigation indicates that Mr. Nagarajappa is believed to have committed the double murder-suicide. Mr. Shelton conveyed to The Baltimore Sun newspaper that each individual appeared to have suffered from gunshot injuries.
As reported by the police, the family members were last seen alive on Tuesday evening. The Office of the Chief Medical Officer is set to carry out an autopsy to ascertain the exact manner and cause of their demise.
Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski expressed profound sorrow over the distressing incident, conveying sympathy for the innocent lives tragically cut short. He assured that comprehensive support would be extended to the affected family and the community.
Addressing concerns, law enforcement authorities emphasized that there was no perceivable threat to the neighboring communities.
