Major Bridge Damage Due to Heavy Rainfall Disrupts Baddi-Nalagarh Highway Traffic
Traffic has been halted on the Baddi-Nalagarh highway after the main bridge suffered damage after a cave-in following heavy rainfall, an official said.

The Baddi-Nalagarh highway has come to a standstill as a result of substantial damage to the main bridge following a cave-in due to intense rainfall, confirmed an official source.
A key pier supporting the bridge structure gave way, causing the bridge to buckle in the center. The collapse of this primary bridge segment has resulted in the isolation of Baddi from crucial connectivity with Chandigarh, Haryana, and Punjab.
For travelers aiming to reach Punjab and Haryana, authorities have recommended utilizing the Lakkar Deepu bridge situated approximately 4 to 5 kilometers away, as an alternative route.
The Himachal Pradesh Traffic Police conveyed vital information through a post on the social platform X (previously known as Twitter). In a traffic update posted at 7 am, it was reported that the Baddi Main Bridge has experienced significant structural damage, with one supporting pillar having collapsed and the bridge showing a notable bend at its center.
Subsequently, all traffic movement on the Baddi Main barrier bridge has been indefinitely halted. Pedestrian movement across the bridge has also been prohibited. Commuters are advised to opt for an alternate route via Maranwala Barotiwala to access the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) area.
