GIRL TRAPPED!

The film explores terrorism, isolation, ISIS, and the Indian diaspora in Iraq.   Nushratt Bharucha plays an extraordinarily brave girl who works in a garment factory in Iraq and how she and her co-workers are either killed or kidnapped by the ISIS and by mistake she kills their general and is punished by one of their senior leaders to get married and be a part of his harem as a sex slave and how she escapes from there is the gist of the story.

Nusratt Bharucha is superb  as the kidnapped brave girl. She's all by herself, but she doesn't give up. She decides to stay strong and find a way to survive in Iraq, where everything is in chaos because of the fighting.Even though she's alone and scared, she doesn't lose hope. She shows how tough she is and how she can handle situations.The story of the film Akeli is about her bravery and determination to stay alive even when things are hard. It's like she's saying, "I can handle being alone" in a place where it's tough to do that.Can she do anything for her survival alone (Akeli)?

The other performances by  Nishant Dahiya, Rajesh Jais, Tsahi Halevi, and Amir Boutrous  are also impressive.Akeli is directed by the debutant Pranay Meshram and written by Pranay Meshram, Gunjan Saxena, and Ayush Tiwari.   

They have done well but we have seen such dramas in Airlift, Esacape From Taliban, Shakti The Power and in Hollywood we have had Taken, Not Without my Daughter, etc. The cinematography has hard colors to justify the gritty drama and the editing is super slick and the music and especially the background music is very effective. All in all a very hard hitting film topped by a powerful performance by Nusratt Bharucha.
