Stolen," featuring Abhishek Banerjee is all set to make its grand debut at Venice Film Festival in 2023.

Jungle Book Studio brings forth the Hindi feature film "Stolen," with the visionary Gaurav Dhingra at the helm. This cinematic creation has been chosen as the sole representative of Indian cinema at the revered Venice Film Festival of 2023. This remarkable achievement shines a spotlight on the film's exceptional storytelling and the creative prowess of the Indian film industry on the global stage.
"Stolen" stands as an edge-of-the-seat thriller from India, proudly occupying its place as the sole Indian entry in its category amidst a lineup of extraordinary international films. Among these cinematic gems are David Fincher's "The Killer," Bradley Cooper's "Maestro," Sofia Coppola's true-story adaptation "Priscilla," the A24 production "Poor Things" featuring Emma Stone and Mark Ruffalo, and Edoardo De Angelis' "Comandante."
Under the skillful direction of Karan Tejpal, the film's ensemble cast, led by the powerhouse performer Abhishek Banerjee, alongside the talented Shubham and Mia Maelzer, transports viewers to a remote rural railway station in India. Against this backdrop, "Stolen" weaves a gripping narrative of a five-month-old infant snatched from her mother, the downtrodden Jhumpa Mahato. This heart-wrenching incident thrusts two urban brothers, Gautam and Raman, into the spotlight as they navigate a labyrinth of challenges that test their bonds and principles.
Sharing his thoughts, Abhishek Banerjee, the lead actor, expressed,
"'Stolen' has undeniably marked one of the most demanding roles in my career. The character I portray stands worlds apart from my real-life persona. It impelled me to delve into the intricacies of human emotions and experiences, demanding a level of genuineness and vulnerability that pushed me beyond my comfort zone. The film's selection to represent India at the prestigious Venice Film Festival is truly a monumental milestone, and I am deeply honored. This recognition underscores the potency of storytelling and its ability to transcend geographical boundaries. I am eagerly anticipating the global audience's resonance with our film."
Speaking in unison, Director Karan Tejpal and Producer Gaurav Dhingra affirmed, "Bearing witness to our film's inclusion in the Venice Film Festival evokes an immense sense of pride. This film has been a labor of passion, a convergence of extraordinary talents striving to craft something extraordinary. The Festival boasts a storied history of showcasing exceptional films that have etched their mark on the world of cinema, and we are honored to be in such esteemed company. As we gear up to present 'Stolen' on this illustrious platform, we are humbled by the opportunity and thrilled to contribute to the legacy of the Venice Film Festival."
