BJP Criticizes Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Over Crime Incidents
The BJP on Sunday attacked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over recent incidents of crime in Bihar, saying he is dreaming of becoming prime minister of the country while he is not able to handle the law and order situation in his own state.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing critique against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of Bihar, citing recent crime incidents within the state. Accusing Kumar of harboring ambitions to become the country's prime minister while failing to manage the law and order situation in his own jurisdiction, the BJP expressed its concerns.
Ravi Shankar Prasad, a prominent leader within the BJP, questioned the genuineness of Kumar's recent visit to the national capital to pay homage to the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his memorial. Prasad inquired whether this gesture was an authentic display of reverence for the former prime minister or a strategic maneuver to convey a message to his political allies.
Addressing Kumar directly, Prasad remarked, "Nitish babu, what has transpired? Not long ago, a police officer was brutally killed in Bihar. Subsequently, a journalist lost their life. Today, news emerged of a sand mafia assaulting police personnel in Gaya. Nitish babu, your management of Bihar is faltering. It's imperative to address Bihar's challenges before concerning yourself with national affairs."
Prasad further asserted that the country's security is ensured under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He continued, "A sense of terror prevails in Bihar. The populace is living in apprehension, as the sand mafia and criminals operate with impunity, enjoying the support of influential figures associated with your political allies in the state government."
Prasad was alluding to the ruling alliance between Kumar's JD(U) party and the RJD.
In reference to Kumar's tribute-paying visit to Vajpayee's memorial on August 6, Prasad acknowledged the significance of the gesture but questioned the motives behind the conspicuous emphasis on Vajpayee's legacy.
While affirming their shared respect for Atal ji (Vajpayee), Prasad implored Kumar not to exploit this reverence for political gain. He advised Kumar to avoid politicizing Vajpayee's legacy and offered his humble suggestion to that effect.
The BJP's criticism comes against the backdrop of escalating crime incidents in Bihar and the broader political landscape. The party is wary of Kumar's political aspirations and is vocalizing its concerns about his ability to effectively govern his own state while harboring ambitions for national leadership.
