Alleged Murder Plot to Fake Girlfriend's Death Unfolds in Chhattisgarh's Durg District
In a startling turn of events, a 37-year-old self-proclaimed doctor stands accused of orchestrating a heinous crime in Chhattisgarh's Durg district. According to authorities, the individual, Umesh Sahu, reportedly took a life to stage the death of his paramour, Supriya Yadav (32), in a bid to facilitate their elopement.

On Sunday, local law enforcement arrested Umesh Sahu, Supriya Yadav, and their alleged collaborator, Pradeep Janghel (36), in connection with the murder of Surja Bai Markam.

The grim sequence of events began when Mr. Sahu, who had treated Surja Bai Markam as a patient for an extended period, purportedly took her life on August 14. Shockingly, he concealed her lifeless body within a refrigerator located at his clinic.

Under the cover of night, the accused, accompanied by Mr. Janghel, transported the deceased to Durg in an automobile. From there, they proceeded to Supriya Yadav's residence, where they ingeniously planted the victim's jewelry on her and set her body ablaze in the storeroom of the house.

The discovery of a charred female body in the storeroom on the night spanning August 15 and August 16 prompted the victim's in-laws to file a police complaint. Their identification of Supriya Yadav's jewelry on the deceased led them to believe that she had perished in the fire.

However, the situation took a bewildering twist on August 16 when one of Supriya Yadav's relatives reported that she had been found unconscious between Khairagarh and Jalbandha villages and subsequently transported to her parents' residence.

During the ensuing investigation to ascertain the victim's identity, the police apprehended Supriya Yadav, a mother of two children, and uncovered a shocking motive behind the gruesome plot. It emerged that Supriya Yadav, despite her initial intentions to elope with Umesh Sahu, began to yearn for her children and desired a return to her familial home.

All three individuals involved in this disturbing incident have been taken into custody and face charges under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
